Integrative Counselling and IFS Therapy in Stevenage and Online

Integrative Counselling and Trauma Therapy

Welcome to my counselling practice. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My integrative approach combines several therapeutic methods to provide personalised support tailored to your unique needs.

Initial Consultation

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but I'm here to make the process as comfortable as possible for you. I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation, giving us both an opportunity to discuss what brings you to counselling, explore your current challenges and goals, and see if we're a good fit to work together. This no-obligation chat can take place over the phone or online, whichever you prefer.

My Approaches

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from various therapeutic approaches to provide a comprehensive and personalised service. At the heart of my practice is the person-centred approach, developed by Carl Rogers. This modality is based on the belief that you have an innate tendency toward growth and healing. In our sessions, I strive to provide unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and genuineness, creating a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your experiences, gain insights, and make positive changes in your life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems therapy is a powerful approach that views the mind as naturally multiple. In IFS, we work with different parts of your internal system to promote healing and harmony. This method can be especially effective for trauma healing, managing anxiety and depression, improving self-esteem, and enhancing relationships.

Remember, the journey in IFS sessions is unique for each person, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Constellation Work

Family Constellation work, developed by Bert Hellinger, helps to reveal and heal hidden dynamics within family systems. This approach can be particularly helpful for resolving difficult family relationships, understanding transgenerational patterns and trauma, finding your place within your family system, and addressing issues in your workplace or organisation. In our sessions, we might use objects to represent family members or aspects of your life, allowing us to see and shift dynamics that were previously invisible.

Through these diverse approaches, we'll work together to address your concerns, build on your strengths, and help you move towards a more fulfilling life.

Group Sessions

In addition to individual counselling, I offer monthly support groups for women. These sessions provide a unique opportunity for healing, growth, and connection in a supportive community setting.

Who are these groups for?

Our women's support group welcomes adult women from all walks of life. It's particularly beneficial for those navigating:

  • Healing from abuse or violent relationships
  • Immigration challenges and cultural adjustment
  • Relationship difficulties or the desire to build healthy partnerships
  • General life transitions and personal growth

When do they happen?

We meet once a month in Stevenage. The sessions last approximately 2.5 hours, providing ample time for deep exploration and meaningful interaction.

How can group sessions help?

Group therapy offers several unique benefits:

Shared experiences

Realising you're not alone in your struggles can be profoundly healing.

Multiple perspectives

Gain insights from others who may be at different stages of their journey.

Social support

Build connections and a support network with others who understand your experiences.

Practical skills

Learn and practice new coping strategies in a safe, supportive environment.

Affordability

Group sessions often provide a more cost-effective option for ongoing support.

Our sessions are grounded in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) modality, incorporating elements of polyvagal theory and parts work. This approach helps you understand your internal dynamics, heal from past traumas, and develop more harmonious relationships with yourself and others.

How to join

If you're interested in joining our women's support group, please contact me via email or phone. We'll discuss your needs and ensure the group is a good fit for you. Once you've joined, you'll be added to our WhatsApp group for ongoing communication and support between sessions.

Group therapy can be a powerful complement to individual counselling or a standalone support option. It offers a unique blend of professional guidance and peer support that many find invaluable on their healing journey. Whether you're dealing with specific challenges or simply seeking growth and connection, our women's support group could be a valuable resource for you.
